From the blog title I could philosophically go in several directions but in short the play on words also refers to training provider (LLT) here in the uk with whom I successfully completed their Postural Stability Instructor training. More specifically the course trains professionals to plan and deliver the Falls Management Exercise (FaME) programme — an evidence-based intervention specifically designed to improve balance and reduce falls risk in frailer older people.
FaME was first developed in 1999 by LLT Directors Dawn Skelton and Susie Dinan-Young, with Department of Health funding, and is backed by published research showing significant reductions in falls and falls-related injuries.
The video clip shown taken 3 months ago was midway through the course and since then I’ve continued to implement the FaME and Otago protocol essential for my NHS work however it’s now time to share more online tips to a least prompt one person to consider taking action to increase their activity be it at home or through seeking out a local class.
Much more to follow
